African Stories, a BIS Teatru production, directed by Bogdan Sărătean, is an event within the project Unity in Diversity – Romanian and African Fairy Tales, implemented by INTERAKT ARTS Association, in partnership with BIS Association and with the support of Diogene Association.

The performance is based on an African folk tale, “The story of the little girl Nsangi and

the hungry chimpanzee”, which has similarities with other European fairy tales (“The three-legged goat” by Ion Creanga or “Little Red Riding Hood” by the Brothers Grimm), with similar messages: the belief in tolerance and acceptance, the victory of good over evil, the need to protect the little ones from the dangers of the social environment, the chance to rehabilitate the “bad ones”

Proiectul “Scrisori pentru bunicii noștri” face parte din Programul cultural național „Timișoara – Capitală Europeană a Culturii în anul 2023” și este finanțat prin programul Light Over Borders, derulat de Centrul de Cultura și Artă al Județului Timiș, cu sume alocate de la bugetul de stat, prin bugetul Ministerului Culturii.
